Ethics 4.0 - Ethical Recommendations

So how can Victoria Secret improve its ethical approach?

After doing research into the ethics of Victoria Secrets and its much more ethical competitors, it's become more clear that they do absolutely nothing about it. zero.

So I've decided to do a post on my personal suggestions and how this will improve their brand. These idea are of similar process that occurs in other companies and some that I personally think would just make the brand better, while making it more approachable.

One thing with bras they don't last for ever. Everyone has their favourite bra which they wear everyday even if the wire is slightly popping out. But we don't want to bin them, for them to just end up in a land fill which is slowly polluting the world. And you cant exactly just give them to charity cause no ones gonna wanna buy a bra that been worn for a year straight, are they? Plus hygiene.

So why don't Victoria Secret start a "hand in old bras" campaign and  in return you can get different benefits from the shop. Weather you hand in 1 bra or 5, the treat will depend on its quality and quantity. The customer could get certain discounts from 10% to 30% off products or maybe a buy one get one free offer on selected lines. Anything that will make people think about wanting to upcycle their bra.

So what would Victoria Secret do with the thousands of bras they get handed? well let me give you some suggestions. They could either send them of to countries where women are less unfortunate to have daily underwear, but obviously only giving them good quality ones. Or maybe Victoria Secret could try reuse the bras, take apart the material and try make it into a different fibre. 0r reuse the lace or decoration. This could be created into a new line. A new ECO line for bras and underwear, they can try reuse a lot of the old bras but also use new organic and sustainable fabrics, to create a unique piece of lingerie. These could maybe be cheaper then original bras, knowing that they have second hand bras within them but it would also mean it would allow people to buy them knowing they are beneficial. VS could also give a percentage of proceeds to a chosen charity which is ethically beneficial. Not only would this be good for the environment but it would allow customers to know they are doing good by buying this product. Which would also bring in a new type of customer.
To be honest even if Victoria Secret didn't do a hand in they could still easily produce a eco line, using organic fabrics which have less impact on the environment and use natural dyes to get colour. reducing the use of chemicals in processing. 
One positive is that Victoria Secret don't use plastic bags when you buy products, however they could still go that little bit further. Many companies often promote tote bags, a bag that can be reused and won't be put in the bin straight away. VS could easily do this, either if you spend over a certain amount or buy one for a price, yet again with a percentage of proceeds going to a charity. 

I believe the above improvements would make a massive difference to the store and widen its doors to a greater customer audience. Not only this but the store would be showing they do care about how they look and its effects on the environment. 
There is still much more that could be done to improve Victoria Secret from production, to delivery and packing. But i think the above things would be much more easier to reach first while still making money of it.
